I've really been wanting to like this one, and may still give it a chance somewhere down the road, but I already don't have good thoughts on it.So, okay, this game on its own probably isn't actually that terrible. But it's a Worms game, so it has some big shoes to fill. And I already have a litany of criticisms. The controls haven't wanted to customize right for me at all, which actually is awful because the defaults are way different than what I'm used to. Being pulled into a tutorial before even getting to the menu was a uniquely irritating experience, doubly so with that obnoxious narrator who frankly needed a Bazooka to the face much more than the other worms did. The humor feels lacking in spirit and charm compared to all the other Worms games I've played so far, on the subject of things like the narrator, and that's a big part of the fun for me.At the very least, it plays well enough from what I've gathered. Mostly. The hotseat times are tedious as heck, the random maps felt samey, and it didn't seem like game customization would be that robust compared to what I'm familiar with. I do actually like the physics objects and dynamic water though. Those are interesting concepts.Oi. I dunno. If you're reading this, I recommend games like Armageddon and WMD instead of this one if you want a 2D Worms experience.
